Smart_PQP

Design, implementation and testing of Smart_PQP prototypes for performing qualified energy consumption measurements and assessing, through AI technologies, the operating status of industrial utilities

The objective of the Smart_PQP project is the realization of an innovative product, the Power Quality Plug (PQP), which is configured as an innovative device capable of detecting significant electrical quantities of the power quality of an electrical grid. This is a project in the field of energy management that intends to ensure significant energy savings, resulting in environmental benefits related to the reduction of CO2 and other greenhouse gases. From a technical point of view, low PQ (due to reactive loads, imbalances, micro-interruptions, etc.) results in power losses, component failures, and power and industrial process interruptions with associated economic damages. Therefore, the problem requires technical solutions that enable effective interventions: the measurements detected and processed by the PQP using Artificial Intelligence techniques, will allow an in-depth analysis of the PQ and the stress state of the network, from which to plan maintenance and load management to optimize energy uses. The PQP will also be able to drive filtering and rephasing devices for PQ improvement.

  • Provision of services and infrastructure
The project will make use of BI-REX services, particularly for communication and dissemination activities. Specifically, it is planned to: set up a website through which to communicate the project’s evolutions and illustrate the innovative technologies used; implement various initiatives (publications, communication events, etc.) that will be coordinated and managed by BI-REX, aimed at disseminating the knowledge and results obtained. These activities will involve all project partners.
  • Sharing, use, dissemination of produced material and know-how
All contents/materials produced will be used by BI-REX with a dissemination perspective and spreading of know-how including training activities.
