The project intends to create an integrated flow capable of responding to the needs related to customised prosthetics for large reconstructions of the musculoskeletal system: the development of an integrated solution capable of resolving technological, clinical, regulatory, psychological and organisational issues is the main objective. This is an ambitious project, since traditional prosthetics and regenerative medicine have not found effective, rapid and economical solutions: the unresolved problems cover various areas competing with the functional and social recovery of patients. The proposal, which will focus on additive technology and the development of solutions through 3D printing, aims to: increase the competitiveness of companies; innovate and improve production processes; generate new products; and promote possible new organisational models outside the partnership.
Provision of services, Pilot Line and infrastructure
The project will make use of BI-REX resources and competences: in particular, the use of services and technologies in the field of 3D printing of plastic patient Demo Kits and the use of the software infrastructure, for the implementation of the various activities, is envisaged.
Sharing, use, dissemination of product material and know-how
Sharing the vision and values that underpin BI-REX, an activity is envisaged to create material to be shared concerning the research and the results that have emerged, with a view to disseminating know-how: the contents will be configured as material to be used for training interventions carried out by BI-REX, with the aim of making available a set of experiences accessible to various stakeholders. In this regard, two further activities are envisaged: the creation and development of a website where the results will be disseminated; the publication of the same in specialised sector magazines.
