Dynamic Edge Computing for Plant Monitoring

The Dynamic Edge Computing for Plant Monitoring (DEEPMON) project aims at the prototype development of a software infrastructure that realizes the vertical integration of the collection, integration and aggregation functionalities of production line monitoring data, facilitating the co-ordination of different production systems with the related integration problems between data platforms. DEEPMON intends to facilitate the transition from the currently deployed solutions, which are difficult to change and hard-wired on specific machines and lines, to a cloud-/edge-ready solution, capable of supporting a more general more general execution based on a self-adaptive, scalable and controllable data collection medium.

  • Provision of services, Pilot Line and infrastructure
    The project will make use of the services offered by the BI-REX consortium, in particular with regard to the use of the Pilot Line and possible Cloud and/or Edge Computing platforms alongside it. The IoT services and infrastructures of the Pilot Line and 5G connection will be used (the greatest interest derives from the possibility of testing 5G technology and the micro data centre installed at the edge, at the 5G antenna, with industrial environment infrastructure with MES, integration and data collection with dedicated IoT platforms). For the project meetings, the partnership intends to use the spaces made available by BI-REX (in particular for the Kick-off meeting, for the final results communication event and for co- working activities).
  • Sharing, use, dissemination of product material and know-how
    Sharing the vision and values underpinning BI-REX, the partnership has planned an activity aimed at producing materials to be shared, with a view to disseminating know-how. The content of these materials, agreed upon by all project partners, will be configured as material to be used for training interventions training interventionsrealised by BI-REX.
